FAQ

Why should I bring my cats to you?

When it comes to grooming your precious feline companions, our services stand out for several reasons. Firstly, we offer exclusive 1-on-1 grooming, ensuring undivided attention and personalised care for each cat. This allows us to create a calm and stress-free environment, promoting a positive grooming experience. Moreover, our grooming studio is completely dog-free, eliminating any potential anxiety or disturbances for your cats. With our expertise in cat grooming techniques and a deep understanding of feline behaviour, you can trust that your furry friends are in safe hands with Shandi.

Do cats like getting a bath?

Surprisingly, cats can really enjoy being groomed and pampered.

Will my cat be sedated?

Absolutely NOT. We base our business on being a stress free experience for your cat.

Do you groom cranky cats?

All cats that are groomed must have some level of experience of grooming, or they can become a risk for both Shandi and themselves. During the consultation shandi can see whether your cat will be able to be groomed safely for everyone involved.
Please read our T&C's regarding aggressive cats.
Cats that display signs of major stress and discomfort may be referred to a trusted partner for styling.

Does grooming hurt the cat?

Grooming when done professionally, will not hurt your cat. Not grooming your cat may actually be more detrimental to their health and well being. Neglecting regular cat grooming can lead to various issues such as matting, skin problems, hairballs, flea infestations, overgrown nails, and a poor coat condition. It's important to groom your cat to keep them comfortable, healthy, and free from potential discomfort or health complications.

How long will it take?

Shandi works 1 on 1 with your cat to ensure that they are well taken care of during every step of their service.  This means that she may need 45 minutes-1.5 hours to perform the service within your cats comfort level. The duration of the service will also vary depending on what services you have booked.

With first time grooming services, she may need more time to slowly and comfortably introduce them to the experience.

Can my kitten be groomed?

Yes! We recommend starting your kittens grooming journey from 14 weeks (when they're fully vaccinated). Starting your kitten with professional grooming at a young age offers several benefits, including familiarising them with the grooming process, building positive associations, promoting proper coat and skin health, preventing matting and tangles, establishing good hygiene habits, and facilitating early detection of any potential grooming or health issues.

What are the benefits to having my cat professionally groomed?

Professional cat grooming offers benefits such as maintaining coat health, detecting skin issues and parasites, reducing hairballs, promoting comfort and hygiene, reducing stress, aiding in early detection of health issues, providing specialised care, and improving aesthetics and odour control.

Do you offer teeth cleaning?

We leave the dental cleaning to the veterinarians to ensure the safety of Shandi and your cat.
Most cats are not fond of having their mouth and teeth being handled, so this can become a risk for both parties. Some cats may have underlying dental conditions that may delay recovery or worsen if we were to clean their teeth.

Will my cat feature on Felinity Social media platforms?

We would love to feature your adorable cat on our business social media! We try our best to showcase all our fabulous feline clients. However, please keep in mind that some cats may not be the biggest fans of photo shoots, or the photos may not do them justice. But don't worry, we'll do our best to capture their cuteness and share it with our cat-loving community. Your cat's comfort and happiness always come first!

How can I transport my cat?

Please transport your cat in a secure carrier. This will ensure that they stay safe while travelling.
If your cat does not enjoy being in the carrier, put a towel over the carrier while travelling. This can sometimes help them calm down.

How often should my cat be professionally groomed?

This can vary depending on the breed and age of your cat but for most, every 4-6 weeks will ensure your cat stays happy and healthy. This can be discussed further in the initial consultation.

What do I do while I wait?

Being a home based salon, we do not have a waiting area.
There are a lot of cafes located down the road to check out, or a little further away is Chadstone Shopping Centre.
